The PACE book 'Poor Model Man'

Near the start of active campaigning in Europe to close the BPRC chimp facility, PACE organised a conference in Brussels on "The Use of Chimpanzees in Biomedical Research". The conference was largely funded by the Eurogroup for Animal Welfare, an organ of the European Parliament. Additional contributions towards the costs were received from a wide variety of animal charities in the USA and Europe. The Proceedings of this conference were published at the end of 1995 in the form of a book entitled "POOR MODEL MAN". Details of the book are as follows:

Poor Model Man: Experimenting on Chimpanzees

Proceedings of PACE's Conference on the Use of Chimpanzees in Biomedical Research

Here, between two covers, is the full story of the misuse by scientists of chimpanzees in medical laboratories, and a catalogue of reasons why we should not use them. A panel of experts comes out unanimously against their use, for scientific as well as moral reasons.
